Postmodernes Dasein, gerade als Protagonisten der überbordenden Konsum- und Warenwelt ist ein häufiges Sujet gegenwärtiger Fotografie. Christoph Martin Schmid packt so etwas in eine kurzweilige Fotostrecke, bei der man gemütlich Abstand nehmen kann. Ärger im Paradies haben ironischerweise(?) nur die Reichen.

postmoderne existence as protagonists in the exploding consumption world of capitalisme is a repeating subject for the photography of the time. Christoph Martin Schmid puts something like this into an amusing line and lets space open to take distance again. trouble in paradise is ironicaly(?) left to just wealthy people.

Sie hat die amerikanische Dokumentarfotografie massgeblich beeinflusst. Dorothea Lange hat in ihren Arbeiten vornehmlich an den Rändern des amerikanischen Way-of-Life eingesammelt. Auf den Feldern im mittleren Westen während der Weltwirtschaftskrise (Great Depression) und in den Internierungslagern für Amerikaner japanischer Herkunft.

she did influence the american documentary photography quit a big deal. Dorothea Lange did collect her works particularely at the edges of the american way of life. on the fields in the middle west during the great depression and in the camps for americans of japanese origin.

Martin Parr und Vitalic

Einen nicht unbedingt symphatischen Blick wirft Brite Martin Parr auf seine Landsleute. Dem Mittelstand ist er mit seiner Linse vors Angesicht getreten und findet gepflegte Langeweile und ein fast groteskes Verhältnis zu britischen Werten - z. B. die Briten und das Reiten . Da kann man sich etwas Häme nur schwerlich verkneifen. Ich wäre sehr gespannt, wie das Porträt der Schweizer und Schweizerinnen aussähe, käme der Mann mit seinen Kameras mal vorbei. - Vitalic gibt heute das Kontrastprogramm - feines Stück zum Arschwackeln.

the english photographer Martin Parr has not really a nice look for his people. his pictures of the middle class show decent boreness and an almost grotesque relation to british values like for example horse riding. its hard to not smile about it. i would be curious how a portrait of swiss people would turn out if he would ever visit switzerland. - Vitalic gives the contrast for today - nice track for ass shaking.

Brian Ulrich sieht genauer hin. Auf die alltäglichen Warenberge, die uns umgehen, auf die Infrastruktur der Supermärkte, auf die Reihen an Kassen, die uns im Takt abfertigen. Jeden Tag. Bei seinen Fotos bekommt Einkaufen, die regelmässige Versorgung mit dem scheinbar Nötigen, seine Dimension von Überfluss zurück. Ganz unspektakulär, ganz unvermeidlich. Die unvorstellbare Steigerung zeigt die Kategorie Thrift auf seiner Homepage Das alles und sein Blog ist sehr empfehlenswert!

Brian Ulrich takes a closer view on the daily consumation trips around us, on the infra structure of grocery stores, the lines before the cash desk we have to deal with every day. his pictures show shopping and the regular supply we seem to need in a new dimension, the perspective of abundance in an unspectacular way. the category Thrift on his homepage shows the unbelivable exageration and i recommend it like his blog as well.

Dash Snow und Bobby Bare Jr.

Polaroids sind vor allem für diese Momente, in denen eigentlich keine Zeit ist, Fotografierwerkzeuge aus der Tasche zu kramen, ordentlich einstellen und den Auslöser betätigen. Dash Snow betreibt dieses Spiel konsequent bis konsequent. Auf der passenderweise gleichfalls sehr simplen Homepage kann man sich davon überzeugen. Bobby Bare Jr. feiert derweil nochmal Valentine, mit allem was dazugehört.

polaroids are particularely for those occasions where there is not much time left to deal with all the fancy camera equipment. Dash Snow is handling his polaroid with every consequence. also his homepage relates to this in an easy and simple way, while Bobby Bare Jr. is celebrating once again Valentine including every aspect of it.

Surfen im Netz ist einfach. Sich Treiben lassen nicht schwierig. Ein Foto finden, das auf Anhieb eine Reaktion auslöst, schnell passiert. Erklären was das genau ist, unmöglich.

to surf in the internet is simple and floating through the stuff easy enough. it happens fast to find a picture which creates a reaction, but to explain exactly what it is about seems impossible.
