Ho - drei ereignisreiche Wochen sind vorbei. Viel Arbeit und Urlaub. Jetzt geht es hier wieder etwas regelmässiger zu. Die Herbstsaison will ich mit Christiane Zschommler eröffnen. Ihre wunderbaren Photos sind so eigenwillig wie originell. Zum Beispiel Fotos mit Asphaltspiegelungen. Tolle Idee und phantastische Umsetzung. Da kann man sich fast auf die regenreichste Zeit des Jahres freuen. *g* -

Ho - three intense weeks are over. a lot of work and vacation too. now here more regularety takes place again. fall i want to open up with Christiane Zschommler. her wonderful pictures are unique and special. for instance images with urban reflections. great idea and fantasticly well done. it almost makes one look forward to the rainy season.

Der Sommer gibt nochmal Ahnung davon, wie schön er sein kann - das dass Mass an heissen und feuchten Tagen im Gleichgewicht sich befindet. Jedenfalls gibt es nochmal Gelegenheit, recht beschwingt zwischen Balkon und Küche hin- und herzuschwingen. Bald kommt die graue, dunkle Zeit. Da muss dann anderes auf den Plattenteller.
Pop im Überfluss kommt heute aus Frankreich, England, Kalifornien und (Oh!) Kanada.

summer is coming up a last time with the nice and warm touch. it anyway gives an opportunity to swing between kitchen and balcony. soon there will be a lot of fog and in general a dark time which makes one put different stuff on the turntable. wealthy pop comes today from england, california and (Oh!) canada.

Oh Schreck - Vorläufiges Ende bei Sleater-Kinney

Was für eine traurige Nachricht. Die Mädels von Sleater-Kinney beenden einstweilen ihr Unterhaltungsprogramm. Das ist sehr sehr schade, denn wenn sie auf der Bühne standen, war Spass am Rock’n'Roll angesagt. Laut und manchmal leise, wütend aber nie schrill, authentisch und ohne Posen. Das nach 11 Jahren Platten-Machen, Touren, Platten-Machen die kreative Luft ausgeht, mag man im Allgemeinen vielleicht glauben. Dass im Besonderen eine der Lieblingsbands die Gitarren in Koffer verpackt und zu Hause in den Keller räumt, versteht ein Fan wirklich nie. Den Abschiedsgruss an die Fans kann man auf Sleater-Kinneys Homepage nachlesen. Bleiben die Konzerte in memory und die Platten im Schrank. Seufz!

what a sad message. the girls from Sleater-Kinney did stop for the moment with her entertaining program. this is a pity because them on stage was fun in rockn roll. loud and sometimes quiet, with anger but never shrill, authentic and without poses. eleven years of making albums, tours and again making albums might make one believe that the air was out, but that one of the favourite bands put their guitars back in the box and into the cellar at home does a real fan never understand. the final message to the fans is up to read on the Sleater-Kinnes Homepage. the concerts remain in memory and the the records remain in the closet. moan!

Morten Nilsson mit feinem DJ Zebra Mashup

Dass Tänzer und Tänzerinnen etwas ganz besonders gut können, ist sicher unzweifelhaft. Und dabei ist diese Sache eigentlich etwas bei dem ich selbst auch richtig Spass habe. Tanzen. Aber was bei mir Arschwackeln ist, ist da hohe Kunst. Und wenn das Kunst ist, wird das um etliche Portionen ernster. Könnte man meinen, wenn man sich die Porträts des Dänen Nilsson ansieht. So richtig entspannt sehen die Künstler nicht aus. Meinem Tick musikalisch dagegenzuhalten kann ich heute so richtig frönen. Postab-Rumpel-Mashup aus dem feinsinnigen Frankreich. DJ Zebra lässt da die Rammelwolle fliegen.

it is without doubt that dancers have their skills. dancing is something which gives me a funtime too, but while in my case it is just ass shaking it is art for the professional dancer. and if it is art it will become a lot more serious. at least the portraits of the artists by Nilsson look not really relaxed. so my little run for a musical opposition comes easy today. outstanding rumble mashups from the sensitive france. DJ Zebra outdoes anything.

William Howard auf Etwas ist falsch Herbert

Die neue Grenze zwischen Mexiko und den USA. In Material. William Howard hat sie aufgenommen. Eindrücke für all jene, die gerade keine Lust auf USA-Tourismus haben. Wellblechkilometer um Wellblechkilometer. Das muss nicht mit sehr viel Kommentar versehen werden. Die Fotos sind beeindruckend und dabei kommt Howard auch noch ohne jedes Pathos aus. Auch wenn Herbert dazu etwas lässig aus der Box kommt, stimmt nicht nur der Titel.

the border between mexico and the USA. in material. William Howard did catch it. impressions for those who do not feel like USA-tourisme at the moment. sheet metal , miles for miles. a lot of comentary to this is not needed. the images are impressing and done without a lot of pathos. maybe Herbert might come out of the box a little too easy but even the title makes sense.

Goon#18, Spoonfork#6 und Client

Holla, das neue Goon ist draussen. Ein feines Pop-Magazin, mit Beiträgen zur literarischen, musikalischen und cineastischen Popkultur. Mit Hot Chip haben sie einen meiner Favoriten thematisch an Bord. Und die Frage, warum Mode sich von Terror angezogen fühlt, ist natürlich ein wunderbar provozierendes Thema.

By the way - auch ein anderes, kleines aber feines Magazin hatte kürzlich eine neue Ausgabe in die Welt entlassen. Spoonfork tritt zum sechsten Mal an, unsere Popherzen zu erfreuen. Sommer ist ein Schwerpunkt mit Bikini-Fotostrecke, Urlaub auf kleinstem Raum für Null-Budget und einem T-Shirt-Special. Alles super!

Holla, the new Goon is out. a fine pop-magazin, with posts from pop culture related literature, music and movies. with Hot Chip there is one of my favourite on board. and the question why fashion gets attracted by terror is of course a wonderful provocating topic.

by the way - another small but fine magazin did recently publish a new issue. Spoonfork is going to please our pop hearts for the sixth time. summer is a main point with bikini photo trip, vacation on smallest space for nothing and a t-shirt special. super.

Robert Adams und Ghostigital

Leben in neuen Häusern - Migranten in Colorado - angekommen im sauberen Westen der 60er. So hatten sie sich ihre neue Heimat nicht vorgestellt. Und Robert Adams hielt mit der Kamera fest: die boxenartigen Fertighäuser, die gleichgeschalteten Automobile, die vermisste Natur. Die Enttäuschung eben.
Das Stück Musik heute scheint vermeintlich nur wenig zu passen. Kann man vielleicht wie einen Gegenentwurf hören. Ghostigital haben so viel Druck wie so eine gottverlassene, ganze Siedlung nicht.

to live in new houses - emigrants in colorado - when they arrived in the clean west of the sixtis they met a new home which was not supposed to be like that: the box like ready houses, the same looking cars, a missing nature. just a disappointment. the piece of music for today is supposed to be listened as a smash of contradiction. Ghostigital have so much power like such a god forsaken whole settlement does not have.
